monk Replaces the Enderman

Moine du Vide

A monk who meditated on the Void until the Void answered.

Overview

A monk of a temple who meditated on the Void until the Void answered him. He bound his eyes so as not to see it anymore. Whoever meets his gaze tears that blindfold off: then the monk sees again, and what he sees is you.

Slow, heavy and readable: every move has its sign and leaves an open window after it, when he can neither strike nor step away. Angered, he first tears off his blindfold and rosary; he cannot be hurt until he has.

While he fights he only teleports with his own Void step, except in water or rain, where he flees as the vanilla enderman.

Moves

Stance

Tearing the blindfold

Angered, he tears off his blindfold and rosary. He cannot be hurt during it.

Move 1

Void palm

Within about 3 blocks, an open palm for 7 damage and a 3-block push, then he stays open for 15 ticks. Never twice in a row.

Ranged

Bead volley

From 5 to 10 blocks, every 6 seconds, his beads fly in a line for 4 damage; a step aside dodges them. He stays open 1 second after, his beads away.

Move 2

Void step

Beyond 10 blocks, or when struck by an arrow or stared at, he vanishes and appears 2 blocks in front of you, readying the palm. Every 8 seconds.

Move 3

Bead burst

Struck three times in a row, his beads burst outward: 2 damage and a push within 3.5 blocks, then 1 second open.

How to beat it

  1. Parry the Void palm: he staggers and takes half again as much damage while he reels.
  2. Strike in his open windows: those blows do not count toward his bead burst.
  3. Against the bead volley, a sidestep or a Left Alt dodge is enough.
  4. Do not waste blows while he tears off his blindfold: he cannot be hurt yet.
