In combat mode the item hotbar gives way to the combat bar: ten slots, each showing its technique, its cooldown and its key. Your weapon sits in a small slot on the left.

• Keys 1–9 and 0 cast the techniques instead of switching items. Change weapon with the mouse wheel or by leaving combat mode.
• The experience bar becomes a thin blue Qi bar. Your real XP is untouched.
• After a perfect parry the bar gets a pulsing gold frame and the word Riposte.
• While you hang at the top of the Crescent, its slot glows azure with the word Slam.
