The dry lands of the Silk Road: yellow loess gullies, then the Gobi and its yardangs.

The west of the Murim map follows the Silk Road: first the yellow tables and gullies of the Yellow River's loess plateau, then the gravel and wind-carved ridges of the Hexi Corridor.

The capital of the Heavenly Demon Cult is planned in this desert.
