Camphors and their roots at a wood's edge
Camphor Hill Country
Long grassy hills, clean-edged woods and massive camphors with crawling roots.
The hills of Jiangxi, Hunan and Huizhou: sacred village camphors, fengshui groves, purple milk vetch.
- Long hills several kilometres long, side by side, turned 30° from the east.
- The camphor: a bare 2×2 trunk with a flared foot and great roots crawling over the ground, four to six climbing limbs and a broad rounded crown. The ancient camphor, a village fengshui tree, stands on a 3×3 trunk.
- Woods with clean edges, open meadows between, lone camphors in the fields, patches of milk vetch.
- Cows, sheep, horses, pigs, chickens.
